Welcome to the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Hampton Roads (BMDCHR), a community built by Berner lovers, for Berner lovers. Whether you're a longtime owner, a new puppy parent, or simply captivated by these gentle giants, you've found your people. We are an AKC-affiliated regional club proudly connected to the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, dedicated to celebrating the breed and bringing together enthusiasts across Virginia and North Carolina areas through fun events, shared knowledge, and a whole lot of wagging tails.
What We Do
We are a small but passionate club offering a variety of ways to connect, compete, and celebrate the Bernese Mountain Dog in the Virginia and North Carolina areas.
Draft Tests
We host one to two BMDCA Draft Tests each year, giving Bernese Mountain Dogs the opportunity to demonstrate the working heritage of their breed. Whether you're new to drafting or a seasoned competitor, we'd love to have you join us.
Conformation
We support Bernese Mountain Dog entries at AKC conformation shows, encouraging owners/breeders to showcase their dogs and celebrate the breed standard in the show ring.
Community & Meetups
We bring Berner families together through casual meetups and member events where dogs and people alike can socialize, make friends, and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts right here in the Virginia and North Carolina areas.
